GRUR International – Journal of European and International IP Law is a monthly, peer-reviewed academic journal under the academic responsibility of the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. Launched in 1952 under the name of ‘Auslands- und internationaler Teil von Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht’, the journal has been for the last decades an international reference in the fields of IP and Competition Law.
Specifically designed for scholars specializing in IP law, IP lawyers and patent attorneys both in private practice and working in industry, GRUR International provides an independent platform for scholars’ dialogue and exchanges of perspectives from different countries, with particular emphasis in civil law jurisdictions.
The journal has eight different manuscript categories, namely, editorials, articles, opinions, reports, official statements, decisions, case notes and book reviews. One of its main features is the publication of the relevant case-law from different countries translated into English, which are often accompanied by case notes or opinions of specialized scholars.
While the academic quality of the published articles is guaranteed by around 50 independent and highly qualified peer-reviewers from all continents, a global correspondents' network ensures the monitoring of the legal development of and the access to current and relevant court decisions from different jurisdictions. The journal’s content is available not only in the print versions, but also in the respective online databases of the cooperating publishers Oxford University Press (OUP) and C.H. Beck-Verlag.
